Step 2: Click Add Subdomain

Find and click the “Add Subdomain” button.

FAQ

Do I need to update DNS records after adding a new domain in Plesk?

Yes. After adding a domain in Plesk, verify your DNS records point to your server’s IP address. If you’re using external DNS, update the records at your registrar.

Why am I seeing “DNS Not Resolving” after adding my domain?

This usually happens if:

  • Nameservers are not pointing to the correct server
  • DNS propagation is still in progress
  • Incorrect DNS records were added

Propagation may take 24–48 hours.

What is the difference between a domain and a subdomain in Plesk?

A domain is a primary website (e.g., example.com).
A subdomain is a subsection of the domain (e.g., blog.example.com).
Subdomains can have their own hosting settings in Plesk.

Can I manage DNS records for domains and subdomains in Plesk?

Yes. Plesk includes a built-in DNS Settings manager that allows you to add, edit, or delete DNS records such as A, CNAME, MX, and TXT for both domains and subdomains directly from the control panel.
