Managing your website’s files directly can be crucial for various tasks, from uploading content to modifying themes and plugins. This knowledge base article introduces you to cPanel Web Disk, a convenient tool that allows you to access your website files remotely. cPanel’s Web Disk functionality offers a convenient and secure solution for managing your website’s files directly from your desktop computer. This eliminates the need for manual file transfers through FTP clients, enhancing efficiency.

Steps to Access Your Website Files through Web Disk

1. Firstly, search for cPanel’s login page and enter your cPanel username and password provided by BigCloudy.

2. Within the cPanel interface, locate the section labeled “Files” or a similar category.

3. Click on the option labeled “Web Disk” to initiate the setup process.

4. By default, cPanel might create a primary Web Disk account. If present, click on “Configure Client Access” to activate it

5. For Windows operating systems, ensure “Enable Digest Authentication” is checked before proceeding. This is crucial for establishing a secure connection.

6. Select your operating system (Windows or Mac/Linux) and download the corresponding configuration script. This script particularly streamlines the connection setup process.

7. Open the downloaded script file and follow any on-screen prompts. The script will surely automate the configuration process.

8. Once the configuration is complete, a File Manager application might launch, prompting you for your cPanel username and password.

9. Furthermore, enter your cPanel credentials. Upon successful authentication, you’ll be granted access to your website’s files and folders directly from your desktop computer’s file management application.

10. This indeed allows you to browse, upload, and download files seamlessly.

By leveraging cPanel’s Web Disk functionality, you can efficiently manage your website’s files and maintain a streamlined workflow for website development and maintenance.
