With the help of Google Search Console, Google Analytics, you can verify your WordPress domain for your website. When the verification of your domain is done then you can access valuable data and tools provided by such services to improve your website’s performance, track analytics, and manage email accounts.

Steps to Verify WordPress Domain

Here’s how to verify your WordPress domain with Google using Google Search Console as an example:

1. Sign in to Google Search Console

  •  Go to the Google Search Console website.
  • Then login in with your Google account and if you don’t have any Google account then sign up.
2. Add Your Property (Website)
  • After signing in, click on the “Add Property” button in the top-right corner.
  • Enter your website’s URL (e.g., https://www.abcshop.com) in the provided field and click “Continue.”
3. Choose Verification Method
  • Google Search Console offers several verification methods. The recommended method for WordPress websites is the “HTML tag” method.
  •  Select the “HTML tag” option, and you will see a meta tag code provided by Google.

4. Install Yoast SEO Plugin

Install Yoast Plugin | BigCloudy KB
  • If you are using the Yoast SEO plugin (recommended for WordPress SEO), you can easily add the Google verification meta tag without editing code manually.
  • Then go to “Plugins” > “Add New” in the left side corner of your WordPress Dashboard.
  •  Type “Yoast SEO” in the search bar and search it to install and activate it if you don’t have the plugin.

5. Add Google Verification Meta Tag via Yoast SEO

  •  In your WordPress Dashboard, go to “SEO” > “General” (if you installed Yoast SEO).
  • Click on the “Webmaster Tools“ tab.
  • Paste the Google verification meta tag (from Step 3) into the “Google Verification Code” field.
  • Click “Save Changes.”
6. Verify Domain in Google Search Console
  • Go back to the Google Search Console website.
  • Click “Verify” to complete the verification process.
  • Google will check for the meta tag on your website, and once it finds it, your domain will be verified.

7. Verify Domain Ownership for Other Services

If you want to use Google Analytics or Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) with the same domain, you may need to verify domain ownership separately for those services. The process is similar and may require adding different verification records or codes.

Once your domain is verified, you’ll have access to valuable data and tools in Google Search Console and other Google services. Remember to keep your verification settings up to date and maintain ownership of your domain to ensure uninterrupted access to these services.
